I
purchased my new Treasuremate pinpointer from Les and Carol
on July 14, 2003. Early the next day I was out in one of the
local school yards and the results were great. After finding
the target with my metal detector, the pinpointer centered
on the coins very well and to within about one and three quarters
of an inch deep and woul not respond to foil deeper than one
half inch.
I
found the pinpointer to be more accurate by probing rather
than waving it back and forth. There were a few times the
pinpointed items did not respond and after digging down about
two inches and inserting the probe, it did respond but the
target usually turned out to be old metal or bottle caps.
Wite the new pinpointer, I now make smaller holes, exhausting
less effort and move on, leaving no trace that I had been
there.
I
think every avid detectorist should have a Treasure Mate pinpointer.
It comes with a holster to carry it in and a bag to store
your finds in, sour your hands are free when you are not using
it.
